BPSC Mains Answer Writing: A Simple Structure That Scores
Table of Contents
In the Mains, examiners read hundreds of copies. A neat, structured answer that answers the question directly stands out.
Use a three-part structure
- Introduction: two lines that define the topic or set the context.
- Body: 4 to 6 points with facts, examples and Bihar-specific data where relevant.
- Conclusion: one balanced line, ideally forward-looking.
Read the directive word
Words like discuss, analyse, critically examine and comment ask for different things. Match your answer to the word.
Practise daily
Write two or three answers every day in a time limit. Compare them with model answers, then rewrite the weak ones. Improvement comes from rewriting, not just reading.
Presentation matters
- Use short paragraphs and underline key terms.
- Add a small diagram or flowchart where it helps.
- Keep handwriting readable.
